DESCRIPTION

COUNTERSUNK
Countersunk Head

Commonly used on wood and self tapping screws where a smooth surface is required, but also used on machine screws with a slotted or hexagon drive.


RAISED COUNTERSUNK
Raised Countersunk Head

Most commonly seen on wood and self tapping screws.


ROUND HEAD
Round Head

Again commonly seen on wood screws, does allow for a deeper slot than pan heads.


PAN HEAD
Pan Head

Often used to give a wider load surface, usually with a slotted drive.


CHEESE HEAD
Cheese Head

Not so common as a pan head, but does allow for a deep slot.


RAISED CHEESE HEAD
Raised Cheese Head

Not very commonly used, but does allow for a deep slot.


BUTTON HEAD
Button Head

Usually driven with a recess drive, ie hexagon, torx or pentagon drive. commonly supplied as self tapping or machine screws.


MUSHROOM HEAD
Mushroom Head

Commonly seen with a slot or crossed slot, used mainly on roofing bolts.


COACH HEAD
Coach Head

Commonly used in the agricultural and building trades, stops rotation.


CAP HEAD
Cap Head

Commonly used, available in standard and low head form. usually supplied with a recess hexagon or splined drive.


FLANGED CAP HEAD
Flanged Cap Head

Used more in production enviroment as they save fitting an additional washer. flanges can have serrated face to aid anti vibration.


HEXAGON HEAD
Hexagon Head

The most common form of head on bolts, available in a range of tensile strengths.


HEXAGON WASHER FACED HEAD
Hexagon Head with Washer Face

Used more on high tensile bolts.


FLANGED HEXAGON HEAD
Flanged Hexagon Head

SQUARE HEAD
Square Head

Most commonly used in to match existing bolts, or the give a rustic feel. replaced by hexagon heads.


TEE SLOTHEAD
Tee Head

Used as a bolt head in a channel or groove, stops rotation allowing the nut to be tightened without a tool on the bolt head.
